How to give a hug!!!!! (see below for instructions) |
| Friends Of Montgomery County Texas Animal Shelter |
On average, 2000 dogs and cats are brought into the shelter each month and only 700-800 of these are adopted or reunited with their owners. Many of these animals need medical attention, but Montgomery County does not have the funds to support their treatment, therefore we need your help.
Friends of Montgomery County Tx Animal Shelter (FMCTAS) is a Texas 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization dedicated to saving and providing medical assistance to the animals at the shelter, located at 8535 Highway 242, just east of I-45.

Top 5 household poisons
|
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has listed some of the most common poison problems linked to pets, as fielded by the center's hotline:
1. Flea and tick preparations. Not all formulations are appropriate for all species of animals. Read directions carefully and check with your vet about what's best for your animal.
2. Chemical baits to eliminate insects. The toxic baits should be placed in areas that are inaccessible to your cats, dogs or other indoor pets.
3. Common cleaning products. Keep bleach, detergents and disinfectants away from pets at all times.
4. Lilies are highly toxic to cats. List of the top 5 poisonous plants in Houston:
- Sago palm
- Oleander
- Brugmansia (angel trumpets)
- Elephant ear
- Lantana
5. Human medicine. If your dog or cat seems to have an upset stomach, don't even think of giving her something out of your own medicine cabinet.

| Sponsor a Shelter Kennel |
Montgomery County Animal Shelter is pleased to offer the public a unique way to sponsor a kennel at our shelter. Sponsoring a shelter means the dogs or cats occupying it throughout the year are guaranteed to stay for as long as it takes to find them a new home. Each sponsored kennel receives a plaque with your choice of inscription.
Due to the sheer volume of people that come through our doors daily, this is a great opportunity for your business, organization or corporation to advertise to the public.
We can include your web address, phone number or mission statement for example, it’s up to you. You can choose up to 3 phrases and we will engrave it for you.
Another alternative is that a family can sponsor a kennel with their name on it and a favorite inspirational statement. Or you can even sponsor the kennel in the memory of someone special in your life.
The choice is yours, but either way the shelter promises that the occupants of your kennel are taken care of and are safe until adoption takes place. For example, in one year, one kennel could house over 24 animals and you will effectively be saving all these animals lives!
- To sponsor a dog for 12 months costs $600. 6 months costs $300.
- To sponsor a cat for 12 months costs $400. 6 months cost $200.
To take part in this appeal, please mail your sponsorship money, along with your inscription details to –
FMCTAS Non-Profit, 330,Rayford Road, P O Box 114, Spring, Texas 77386.
Please ensure you include your full name and address and telephone number in case we need to contact you with any queries.
On behalf of all the animals at our shelter, we thank you!

| Not Just Another Brick In The Wall!! |
Montgomery County Animal Shelter on Highway 242 is expanding, and we are giving local animal lovers the chance to ‘leave their mark’ on our building.
We are selling bricks that we will engrave for you with a message of your choice that will become an actual part of our building for everyone to see. Your brick will be cemented into the expanded walkway in front of the shelter.
Bricks will sell for $50 for a four by eight inch brick; $100 for an eight by eight inch brick. The 4x8 brick will have space for three lines, eighteen characters per line and the 8x8 brick will have space for six lines, 18 characters per line.
The builders are already here and eager to start work so get your order in today. We have a limited amount of bricks available to sell (unless Montgomery County allows us to pave all the way to Conroe!)
All the proceeds from our brick sales go directly towards the cost of veterinary treatment of the animals at the shelter.
