Friends of Montgomery County Texas Animals Shelters is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Our services and programs include -
- Medical assistance, including spay & neuter and vaccine services. We have 7 vet clinics where injured and sick animals are taken and hospitalized.
- Fostering and Adoption Programs - FMCTAS covers the vet bills for animals in foster care and supplies the foster parents with dry and wet food for cats and dogs, kennels and and medicine.
- Supporting No-Kill Programs. For example, in February 2008 'No-kill' month at the Montgomery shelter/animal control, FMCTAS paid for over 100 animals to be spayed/neutered at the vets in the area, to be ready for adoption.
- Providing Educational programs at Powell Elementary school, John Cooper school, The Woodlands Park High school, scout groups and many Churches in the community.
- Medical services to include veterinarian care for sick and injured animals, immunization, spay and neuter. As many as 20 animals per day have been sent to our vets.
- Supporting Fostering Programs for interim staging of the animals prior to being adopted, this includes new born puppies and kittens, sick or injured and recovering animals and animals that would otherwise be euthanized ( thousands of animals have been saved).
- Supporting Adoption Programs, such as weekly dog and cat off-site adoptions and providing tents, kennels and transport, as needed.
- Vouchers given to low income communities for spay and neuter.
- Supplying Montgomery County Animal Shelter with kuranda beds, water and food bowls, cat litter, dry and wet food, medicine, heart worm tests, desks, generators,washing machine and marketing materials.
-Fund raising activities such as Miles for Mutts bike rally, BBQ and Bake sale events, Ladies Night out , movie premieres, raffles, contests, parades, fairs, etc.
